Gladman Application Refused

posted 18 Dec 2016, 01:13 by Robert Cowley

At the Planning Committee meeting on 14th December, Cotswold District Council refused the application by Gladman for outline planning permission to building 92 houses on the field behind Berkeley Close (immediately south of Ann Edwards School).  This decision had been deferred following initial detailed discussion at the previous monthly meeting in November.  After careful consideration, the principal reasons for the refusal were the drainage and flood risk issues, the proposed density of the development, and the major concerns about the access and traffic.  Cllr Juliet Layton assisted greatly in explaining all these concerns to the Planning Committee.

The Parish Council would like to thank Rachel Tolhurst for speaking so effectively on behalf of residents who had objected, and also Ian Kennedy and James Harris for their assistance in gathering evidence.
