South Cerney Street Fair 2015

posted 22 Jun 2015, 09:31 by Robert Cowley

Another South Cerney Street Fair and Duck Race has come and gone - another year and another huge success for the Bank Holiday Weekend extravaganza. As always the village was buzzing as visitors from near and far descended upon the gardens and streets of Church Lane and Silver Street. The extensive activities, stalls selling mouth-watering food, and the unique entertainment all attracted thousands of people. We have had a huge amount of positive feedback which has been gratefully received. Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you again to all our sponsors. Without your help we couldn’t provide so many activities and facilities for everyone to enjoy, and our Street Fair would not be half the event it is. Thank you also to all the helpers and the committee, all of whom put in an enormous amount of work in before, during and after the weekend. A special thank you to James Harris and Ian Kennedy - without their efforts the weekend would not be possible.

The winning duck numbers were

1st - 1204

2nd - 730

3rd - 662

Please check your tickets as there are still some prizes unclaimed!

Duck Race Money

Almost £4,000 was raised from the Duck Race. We will be distributing this money in August. If you represent a local charity or organisation that you believe can make good use of these funds then you are invited to apply for a grant. Please email Katharine Isles, by July 31st, stating your organisation, details of the amount required and how it will be spent. Katharine’s email address is katharine@dreamteamtv.co.uk

The All Hallows Church stalls raised over £5,000 on the Street Fair day, while other local charities and organisations raised many thousands of pounds between them.

All in all it was a fantastic outcome for the whole community.

The Street Fair committee are a friendly bunch of volunteers who meet throughout the year and are always looking for more members, help or ideas. If you'd like to assist in any way please contact Katharine Isles.

Katharine has a lot of lost property from the weekend - mostly jumpers and cardigans!

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who attended over the weekend. We'll see you next year on May 27th – 30th 2016!!
