Cotswold District Council has now withdrawn the vehicle depot expansion
planning application, and is currently applying for a Certificate of Lawful
Existing Use or Development under Section 191 of the Town & Country
Planning Act 1990 for the use of the site as a Waste Service Depot for parking
HGVs and other vehicles for the collection of household refuse, organic waste,
dry recycling, recycling banks, industrial and commercial waste, street
cleansing vehicles and staff car parking. The details of this application
may be seen on the planning pages of the CDC’s web site - reference
15/03121/CLEUD The District Council would still need planning permission if they wish to expand the depot to a Waste Transfer Station, as it has not previously been used for that purpose. Their recent press release acknowledges the public concern about the site being used as a Waste Transfer Station, and says that the Waste Transfer Station planning application was withdrawn so that they could ‘do some additional work on the related business cases and the environmental issues before discussing them in more detail with local residents and the Parish Council’. CDC would then consider whether or not to re-submit another planning application for a Waste Transfer Station. |
