BLEDISLOE CUP
South Cerney has reached the final of this year’s competition for the best kept large village in Gloucestershire. We are competing against Painswick. Judging takes place between the 18th and 30th of August so, come on everyone, make us all proud by keeping up our usual standards and impress the judges to hopefully convince them that South Cerney is the best kept village in the county.

ALLOTMENTS
Many residents have enquired about the availability of allotments in the village. The Parish Council has requested that the owners of suitable land consider allocating it for this use and it has been assured the request will be discussed in the autumn. ROAD SAFETY ISSUES
The Parish Council intends to engage the expertise of a road safety appraisal consultant to ascertain how to plan for the future management of the highways in South Cerney. Volunteers are requested to join a working party to enhance road safety throughout the village. WOW INITIATIVE
Residents are reminded that the WoW (Walk on Wednesdays) initiative in conjunction with Ann Edwards School has been organised for Wednesday 10th September from 8.45–9.15am. Residents wishing to support the scheme are encouraged to walk from home to the school. All are welcome.

OVERGROWING HEDGES
All residents who have hedges and shrubs growing out on to pavements or the highway must maintain them in such a way that they don’t hinder the users thereof..
