VACANCY ON PARISH COUNCIL
A vacancy has occurred on the Parish Council which will be filled by the co-option of a new Councillor. An applicant must be a Commonwealth, Irish or European Union citizen who is 18 years of age or over. Each candidate must qualify under at least one of the following criteria: (a) he a registered local government elector for the Parish, or (b) have owned or occupied land or premises within the Parish for the preceding 12 months, or (c) have worked in the Parish for the preceding 12 months, or (d) have resided in the Parish or within three miles of the boundary for the preceding 12 months. The term of the co-opted Councillor will expire at the next ordinary elections in May 2011. Anyone interested in joining the Parish Council should send their details to the Clerk, Mr M. MeKee, South Cerney Parish Council, 6 North Home Road, Cirencester GL7 1DP.
FOOTBALL CLUB PAVILION
Parish Councillors recently met with two members of the South Cerney Football Club who explained the new plans fqr the replacement building. Parish Councillors were minded to support the scheme which will start shortly.
DISC (DISABILITY INFORMATION & SUPPORT IN THE COTSWOLDS)
Once again D.I.S.C. is holding a Christmas Day lunch at Watermoor Church Hall in Cirencester. There is an open invitation to those of you who are going to find yourself alone this Christmas. So why not join us? It's completely free (unless you want to make a donation on the day). If you are by yourself, of the older generation, a single parent or even homeless then get in touch with Dee or Jan at D.I.S.C. on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings on 01285 641796 to book your place. Don't worry if you haven't got transport it can be arranged. We will all have a great time, with plenty of food and drink, free raffle and we like everyone to go home with at least one gift.
