South Cerney Youth Parish Council

Minutes of the mini meeting on Tuesday 3rd October 2006,

4:30 pm – 6 pm, at South Cerney Village Hall Committee Room

Apologies were made on behalf of Dominic as he was otherwise engaged.

2.      Claire’s part

·         Claire told us it was local Democracy week from October 16^th to 20^th. In aid of this she is getting 4 councillors to write a memofesto.

·         There will be a group of youth to respond to this including deer park, Kingshill and 2 primary schools.

·         We will meet on Friday 20^th October from 10: 30 – 1: 30

·         Claire said she would:

Þ     Find out more about the texting/phone idea

Þ     Find out how to contact St John’s ambulance

Þ     Get the print room to do the posters for the Fun run

3.      Peter Jay

·         Said there is no way we can have more access to money

v      We need to tell the clerk of all our expenses with recites or get them to buy it for us because the council can gain back VAT

v      It was suggested that maybe we should have as subcommittee for finance

·         He said we need to start setting what finances we need so that they can fund us.

v      This deadline is 1st January

·         He said we need to have a consultation for the youth to tell us what they want.

v      We can do this by consultation evenings or questionnaires in the Cerney News

·         We asked do we need permission from the parish council to get funding.

v      Mr Jay said that we don’t have to but it would be better for us because we’re more likely to get it with their support.

4.      Fun Run

·         We decided that it would be a dish to share

·         There would be no health bags because we just don’t have the capacity

·         We decided that we would send them a certificate and a leaflet about us after the race. We would do this by taking their address when they register

v      Sinead will e-mail Scott to se whether he can come on the 29th October and whether they have any stuff to mark the course with.

5.      Parish council Meeting

·         We made a list of jobs that we need adults to do to take to the next parish Council Meeting

·         Rachel and Dan said they’d go to the next parish council meeting

The next meeting will be 10^th July at South Cerney Village Hall from 4:30 – 6 pm
